Continuing Education (State Certification and Licensing Courses)
Information |
 |
1. How do I know what Continuing Education is available for me? |
| To view continuing education courses, you should first click on
"The Courses" near the banner on every section of our webpage. This link will
take you directly to our course catalog. On the left hand side of the page, you
should input your state that you intend to be licensed for and the type of
license that you would like education for. You license choices are Mortgage
Broker, Loan Officer, Real Estate Professional, and Loan Officer. Next, you
should click "go." You will be directed to a page that will list the available
courses for your state. Choose the appropriate courses and purchase them.
|
 |
2. How can I check my state's license requirements? |
By clicking on the link that states,
State License Information , located on the left-links on most of our
pages, you will be directed to a new page that lists all of the states in the
country. By choosing the state that you intend to be licensed in, you will be
able to view detailed licensing and requirements for each state. This
information includes the appropriate telephone numbers and contact information
for assistance with licensing and what is required to establish or renew a
license. Additionally, you will see a link with information about background
checks. You will also find a link that will take you to view the appropriate
course work for your state.
|
 |
3. Why isn't my state sponsored? What does it mean to be sponsored? |
| Sponsored states approve our course work to apply for your
continuing education credits. If your state is not sponsored, it means that our
course work will not apply towards your licensing requirements. Normally, this
is the case because your state does not require continuing education, but it
also sometimes means that your state does not approve online education at this
time.
|
 |
4. How can I get cross-state certifications? |
| Because each state has varying requirements for CEU credits, each
cross state certification is a unique situation. Therefore, each needs to be
processed individually by someone in our cross-state certification department.
The fee to transfer credits to another state is $50. Please contact our support
staff to have your credits transferred at 888-792-6770.
|
 |
5. I have purchased my courses, but how will I know I am following the correct prochedure? |
| For assistance with our CE courses, we offer a Continuing Education
Checklist available as soon as you log in to my.Mortgage-Education.com. We
reccomend that you print this checklist and follow each step to get the most
out of your education. To find the checklist, simply log in to your courses via
the "log in" link. As soon as you log in, you will see a link to the top left
that states, Continuing Education Checklist.
|
 |
6. What is the Affidavit of Identiy? |
| The affidavit of identity is simply a form that you should
download, print and take to a notary. This form verifies your identity through
a third person and is required to recieve a certificate in our courses. It can
be faxed to our office at 770-792-6775. Once you have logged into your courses,
you will be able to see if we have receieved yours yet in the top right corner
of your screen. You will be able to take and complete your courses if we have
not recieved the affidavit, BUT you cannot recieve your certificate of
completion until we recieve it. The sooner you send your affidavit, the faster
we process your certification.
|
 |
7. What is the Proctor Agreement and do I need one? |
| A proctor agreement is required ONLY by Louisiana and Montana. The
proctor agreement means that: a third party notary should watch you take your
final exam, and by signing the document, he is stating that it was in fact you
that took this course and its exam. We have available lists of the approved
proctors for each state that requires them.
|
 |
8. What should I know about receiving my certificate of completion? |
We provide a Certificate of Completion to all of our students. To
gain access to your certificate, you must first complete all of the necessary
requirements, including:
-
Send (fax) in the required documentation, such as the affidavit of identity and
the proctor agreement, if needed.
-
Physically complete all of the required time in your courses, with the
interactive timer.
-
Pass all of your quizzes with an 80% or above.
-
Pass the final exam with an 80% or above. This only becomes available after
requirements 2 and 3 have been completed.
Once we have received all of your completed requirements, we will begin our
verification process to provide your certificate. Our verfication process
requires nothing on your part, but takes a minimum of 24 hours to complete.
24-48 hours after we have received all of your requirements, a link to both the
Official Certificate to send to the state and a Certificate to hang on your
office wall will become available online.
|
 |
9. Where is my final exam? |
| Your final exam will not become available until you have physically
completed all of the required time in your courses, with the interactive timer
AND passed all of your quizzes with an 80% or above. Once you have done these
things, your final exam can be located on each course's gateway page at the top
towards the right.
|
 |
10. Why does it say that my certificate is pending verification? |
| Once we have received all of your necessary requirements, it takes
us 24-48 hours to verify your coursework and paperwork before we release your
certificate. There is nothing to be done on your part. Pending verification
simply means that we are reviewing your submitted information and we are aware
that you completed your final exam and we will have your certificate available
as soon as possible.
|
 |
11. What should I do after I finish my final exam? |
| Once you have completed your final exam, please double check the
continuing education checklist to ensure that you have completed all of the
requirements. Also, make sure that our website states that we have received
your affidavit and proctor agreement (if necessary). Besides that, there is
nothing else you will need to do for 24-48 hours.
|
 |
12. How does the timer work? |
| Through our continuing education checklist, we have provided
detailed instructions for how to use the course timer. When you are logged into
your courses, click on the link for the continuing education checklist, then
click on the link that states, course timer. You will be directed to
instructions.
